About Us

Rab Engineering Services was established more than 10 years ago by Director Rab Leghorn and has steadily built from 1 employee. We began providing a service to a major glass manufacturing plant in Adelaide and over the years we have built on this service and now not only continue to provide excellent service to the glass manufacturing plant, but also to other businesses in Adelaide, interstate and overseas. We now currently employ more than 35 people, providing services in mechanical engineering, fabrication and also in industrial cleaning. We pride ourselves on the quality and promptness of the services we provide.

Our factory in Camden Park allows us ample space to fabricate onsite but we also have the flexibility to carry out a vast range of work offsite.

Having purchased a new 5 axis machining centre and CNC lathe, we now have the capabilities to machine components from a drawing or cad file using the latest Cad/Cam software. We also utilise conventional machinery turret mills and centre lathes.

On the fabrication side, we have a 3 metre press for folding and bending and also a 3 metre guillotine for cutting sheet up to 6mm thick. We have mig/tig welding options which allows us to weld a number of materials including Inconel, Stainless & Aluminium.

It remains our mission to provide high quality service in a timely fashion. Our prices are competitive and no job is too big or too small.

Rab Leghorn was born and raised in Scotland, and has worked in the mechanical engineering field since leaving school. He became a time served tradesman gaining certificates in City & Guilds and after spending many years perfecting his trade, he commenced business in Scotland.

Rab immigrated to Australia with his young family in 1993 and following a period of time working for various companies in and around Adelaide, gaining vast knowledge of the industry in Australia, opened Rab Engineering. This soon built from just one employee to over 35 employees today. Rab is dedicated to his company and staff, ensuring he maintains and indeed builds on, the highest of standards in quality of products and service.

Rab is a loyal Glasgow Rangers football fan but his move to Australia has seen his love grow for the Adelaide Crows of whom he and his family are long time season members. He still has strong ties to Scotland but enjoys the lifestyle this beautiful country of Australia has to offer.

Rab Engineering Services has a wonderful team of approximately 35 employees. The structure of our staff is made up of Company Director, Rab Leghorn, Workshop Supervisor, Dave Anger, Site Coordinator George Moon, Welders, Boilermakers, Machinists, Trades Assistants, Labourers and Industrial Cleaners. Our offices are manned by three administration staff.

All of our friendly staff are trained and qualified in their respective positions with ongoing training encouraged.
